Privacy policy
This page is written for Loui.st users and for technical reviewers. It explains what data we process, why, how we protect it, and how you can request deletion.
Global overview
We aim to collect and process only what is necessary to provide the requested service. We do not sell user data. Some processing may involve technical service providers (hosting, email delivery, etc.) strictly to operate the services, with limited and controlled access.
Data categories we may process (depending on the service)
- User-provided data: email address (e.g., notifications), name/surname (depending on the screen), and content you upload when a service requires it (e.g., images).
- Technical data: functional cookies and session identifiers, service preferences (e.g., UI choices, selections), and technical logs (timestamps and steps/pages) depending on server configuration.
- Service data: identifiers and parameters needed to provide the service you are using.
- Derived/processed data: technical derivatives created for performance and reliability (e.g., thumbnails, optimized variants), and metadata (file type, size, capture date if available).
Purposes (why we process data)
- Provide the core functionality of each service in the Loui.st suite.
- Maintain security and access control (sessions/tokens, abuse prevention).
- Maintain reliability (diagnostics and incident resolution via logs).
- Notify users when requested (e.g., emails).
We do not use user data for commercial resale. We do not use data for advertising profiling.
Storage & protection (security practices)
Typical measures include access controls, server-side validation and filtering of inputs, limiting exposure of sensitive data to what is necessary, cleanup of temporary files, and monitoring/logs to detect anomalies and troubleshoot.
Retention & deletion (global principles)
We retain data for the time needed to provide the service and for legitimate operational needs (security, debugging), and we aim not to retain data indefinitely. Some retention durations depend on the lifecycle of the service you use (e.g., project/event duration) and on configured settings.
You can request deletion of data we still hold by contacting support. Please include enough context to locate the data (service name, event/project identifier if relevant, approximate date, and the exact request: deletion, export, correction).
